This tour is a lodge and tented camps based Kenya wildlife tour. Please remember that, in the national parks and game reserves, it is not permitted for visitors to leave the safety of their vehicles, meaning that we’ll spend quite a lot of time in the comfortable 4 WD drive safari vehicles! It is, though, the only way to see Kenya’s unrivalled birds and wildlife and every participant will enjoy a window seat.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Nairobi.

Upon arrival in Nairobi we are going to meet you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you to country lodge at the outskirts of the city. Overnight at Country Lodge, Nairobi. Bed and breakfast.

Day 2 & 3: Amboseli National Park.

After an early breakfast we depart for Amboseli National Park stopping on the way to stretch and shop if need be arriving at Oltukai Lodge in time for lunch.

Early afternoon will be spent at leisure till mid afternoon when we do our first game drive in search of the big cats as well as the herbivores to be back at the lodge just before it gets dark. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Tented Camp.

Day 4: Sangare Conservancy.

Early breakfast and then leave Amboseli for Sangare Ranch Park stopping at Nairobi for lunch. After lunch we drive through the Kikuyu land arriving at our hotel early afternoon. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Sangare Tented Camp.

Day 5 & 6: Samburu Game Reserve.

After breakfast we leave for Samburu National Reserve which is known for its rare northern hemisphere wildlife such as Grevy’s zebra and Reticulated Giraffe and birds species. Wildlife watching on the way to the lodge and stopping when we spot anything special arriving at our lodge in time for lunch.

Afternoon game viewing drive till late in the afternoon to be back to the lodge just before the night falls, dinner and overnight at Samburu Sentrim Tented Camp.

Day 7: Lake Elementaita.

After breakfast we leave Samburu for Lake Elementaita. The lake hosts vulnerable and endangered water bird species including the Great White Pelicans that breed in the Island close to the protected Soysambu Ranch.
The lake is a Mecca for bird lovers as the Lake is a stop-over for over 350 bird species with a population of 3,000 Pelicans and 2,00,000 Flamingos though the numbers increase when environmental conditions like food resource base are limited in other saline lakes.
Soysambu Wildlife Sanctuary gives an opportunity for visitors to spend time on the shores watching the incredible variety of bird species, Buffalo, Gazelle, Water buck, Jackal, Lion, Zebra, Leopard, Eland and Cheetah among other species of Wildlife. In addition to the bird walk and the scenic drive, we will be able to do night game drives here at the expansive Soysambu Ranch. The picturesque view of this lake is simply enthralling. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Sunbird Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park.

After breakfast we leave Lake Elementaita for a day trip to the world renowned Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is world famous for its population of flamingo’s and both Black and White Rhinoceros where we are going to spend the  whole day looking for the different wildlife species found here including the endangered Black Rhinoceros and the elusive Leopard returning to Sunbird Lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and second overnight here.

Day 9 & 10: Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Early rise followed by and early breakfast and then we leave for the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving there in time for a late lunch. Spend the afternoon game watching at the plains of the world famous Masai Mara. All meals at Keekorok Lodge which is located at the heart of the Masai Mara where there are good chances of seeing the big cats and the annual gnus and zebras migration. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

Please note: It is possible to visit a Masai village (Manyatta) while in Masai Mara to learn more about the Maasai. A contribution fee of US $ 30 per person payable direct to the Maasai is acceptable and it is not included in the tour cost.

It is also possible to do a hot air balloon at Masai Mara which costs US $ 425 per person.

Day 11: Nairobi.

Early morning game drives to be back at the camp for breakfast. After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Check in at Country Lodge to freshen up before departing to the famous Carnivore restaurant for dinner and then leave for the airport to catch your outbound flight home.


For much of the areas to be visited, dry and sunny weather may be expected, with daytime temperatures between 20-30°C, depending on the altitude. Clouds are likely in the afternoons, but they don’t usually bring rain, although do not rule it out!

Food and accommodation included in the tour price.

All accommodation and meals are included except for dinner on arrival day in Nairobi and lunch and dinner on the last day back to Nairobi.
